Things Are About to Get Toasty: Fire Appears on Avesta!

Avesta just got a little more dangerous. And you could say, a lot more interesting.

We're introducing Fire as a new emergent hazard in your societies. Because what's a thriving society without the risk of impending disaster? Utopia maybe, and that doesn’t exist.

So how does fire start? Flammable machines – which are most production machines, think kilns, furnaces, ovens, stoves, stations, looms etc – can all catch fire with critical production failures. The less experienced your operating Seedling, the higher the risk. Moral of the story: train your Seedlings.

Once started, fire spreads to nearby flammable objects in the same room, dealing continuous durability damage until it's extinguished – or there's nothing left to burn.

The aftermath: Objects that have been scorched will look like they've been scorched. Burned objects keep a charred surface until they're repaired, so you can always tell what’s been going on (fire) while you weren't watching.

Seedlings can extinguish fires manually, or autonomously via the new Extinguish activity – backed by two brand new skills:

  • Fire Safety, raises the chance of successfully extinguishing a fire

  • Fire Suppression, speeds up the extinguishing process (2.5% per level)

Seedlings will only act autonomously once they're confident they can handle it. And when they don’t feel confident? Take Direct Control and get them to do it with confidence!

The Avesta Firefighters…

Set ‘Extinguish Fires’ as a Scheduler priority and your Seedling becomes a society-wide first responder to anything that’s classified as a fire, meaning they'll enter even private areas to reach a blaze. Talk about hero status.
