Release Date 08.04.2026
Week of April 1-8 2026
Welcome! Another week - but a short one as we had a long weekend on Earth. Speaking of holidays - there is one on Avesta, we hear Seed Industries are trying to recreate the starting conditions of life itself - with eggs! Let us know if you find any…
The Numbers: An Avestan Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we report a significant atmospheric disturbance in our population data. On March 29th, the planet lost 29 Seedlings. The primary cause was confirmed as widespread malnutrition. Full list included below - check it out to see if your Seedling is commemorated.
The Dev Voice
Many of you have met Andy already on Discord. This Klang legend has now stepped into the fray to help our amazing community. It’s hard to miss him.
"Most of my work this week has been working with the community, trying to learn their pain points. What is going well and what isn't? Willow has been super supportive with me joining Colonia Vena as a player, and I am keen to learn more about how things are set up in there so that I can really champion players to the best of my ability."
— Andy Greer, game dev
The Blog: Anne's Relationship Deep Dive
We're delighted to share wtih you the blog that game designer Anne wrote up, covering all recent updates around the social life of Seedlings. It's pretty amazing how detailed and true to life relationships are now on Avesta. Read all about it here: https://seed.game/news-from-avesta/how-to-have-a-relationship
The Forge: Botany of the Desert Biome
While the new Lusen island offers fresh ground for settlement, not all locales on the planet will have such lush. Our artists have been busy populating these arid horizons with resilient, Avesta flora designed to thrive where water is a luxury.

The desert isn't just a wasteland; it’s a masterclass in survival biology:

The Patch Highlight: Relationships & Resource Loops
We like to think that the Release 0.2.5 update is a massive (and positive) boost in how your society will function, both socially and industrially. Some highlights to look out for:
Relationship V4: Seedlings now possess Like and Romance values that are entirely asymmetric - one Seedling might be head-over-heels while the other remains strictly platonic.
The Social Battery: Conversations are now a strategic resource. Each chat costs 1 charge, and Seedlings only like to talk about things relevant to themselves or Avesta.
The Biomass Revolution: We’ve tripled the biomass yield from lumber and added a composting recipe (5 Algae = 3 Biomass) to ensure your farms don't starve for resources.
Let There Be Light: Rooms now have lighting scores. Working in the dark grants the "In Darkness" modifier, which lowers activity success rates.
Avesta Archive: The World in Words
We are diving deep into the Avestapedia this week. These first six chapters represent some of the foundational lore of our new home, exploring everything from the initial atmospheric readings of Avesta to the cultural shifts that occurred during the time it took Metahaven to grow from a crossroads to a mega-city. It's just the start, so check it out before it gets out of hand! You will find posts on the following:
Blog # 6: Metahaven: The Behomoth of Verdantis Blog # 5: The Invisible Umbilicus: The Ether and Avesta’s Comms Blog # 4: The Eilo Archipelago - Geography, Nomenclature, and the Shadow of Verdantis Blog # 3 The Pioneers, Terraforming and Agriculture Blog # 2: ‘From Eilo Toadstools to Verdantis Fingers’: The Mycelial Network, Siro Spores and Flora Blog # 1: ‘You Are Here’: The Environment and Prehistory of the Verdantis Continent
